Assistant Farmpark Administrator (Full-Time, Exempt)
Rate: $32.50 hourly / $67,600.00 annual rate to $55.00 hourly/ 114,400.00 annual rate
Pay Grade: H | Starting salary based on prior experience and education.
Location: Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Rd. (Route 6), Kirtland, Ohio 44094
Position Description: Under the supervision of the Farmpark Administrator, the Assistant Farmpark Administrator supports the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of daily Farmpark operations. This position assists with supervising and developing Farmpark staff and collaborates with team members to design and implement Farmpark programs. The Assistant Farmpark Administrator must be flexible and able to work an irregular schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
§ Assisting with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of Farmpark staff
§ Supporting the implementation of HR policies, programs, and safety procedures
§ Assisting with the development, execution, and monitoring of a multi-department budget
§ Supporting the coordination of Interpretation & Education, Equine & Animal Care, Events, and Maintenance departments
§ Preparing reports, writing content for publications, and representing Farmpark in public presentations
§ Understanding daily facility scheduling to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming park
§ Supporting preventative facility maintenance and repair efforts
§ Acting as Farmpark Administrator in their absence
§ Performing additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in park management and conservation, education, agriculture, horticulture, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance
- Experience working at a demonstration farm, agrotourism site, or similar park facility (preferred)
- Experience with livestock and crop management (preferred)
Position Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to remain insurable under agency policy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and perform physical labor
- Ability to operate Park District vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Completion and maintenance of required training, including safety, emergency response, PPE, and workplace regulations
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
